Myth: Skip carbs while dieting

Fact: Carbs are one of the best and most important sources of energy.  However, this does not mean that a low-carb diet is bad and ineffective. Not all food products have same amount of carbs. In case of white bread and croissants, the level of carbs is different but in case of whole grains products, they are a lot less and in a healthier state. Carbs also fuel workouts due to which, one should keep carbs handy to burn weight.

 
Myth: Fresh fruits have more nutrition than frozen fruits.

Fact: If you want to have only fresh fruits, it is better that you move to a farm. But the fact is that frozen fruits are also high in nutrition and in the wake that you cannot get your hands on fresh fruits, frozen fruits will do nicely. Frozen fruits are also rich in vitamins and minerals, though the nutrition level may drop after being preserved for sometime. However, avoid having them with crème or cheese as that can increase the calorie count.

 

Myth: The yellow in egg is bad for you.

Fact: It is time you become wise about these myths. One large egg has just 213 milligrams of cholesterol which is lower that the daily recommended dose of 300 milligrams in a day. But if you have heart diseases, you should be having less than 200 milligrams in a day. In case you are suffering from any form of cardiovascular disease, high LDL cholesterol or diabetes, have just 2 eggs in a week.

 

Myth: Skip breakfast to lose weight.

Fact: If you skip meal, you will lose weight. However, skipping breakfast is just not done as studies have shown that those who skip breakfast lose twice the weight than normal people. In fact, women who have a heavy breakfast have fewer calories through the course of the day. This is one of the reasons due to which people are adviced to have heavy breakfasts.
