Treatment

The treatment method adopted for cervical cancer differs from country to country. There may be lack of vaccines for the diseases in developing countries. Skilled surgeons are needed for radical pelvic surgery. Sometimes the fertility sparing therapy, a new technology may not be available everywhere. But still this radiosensitive disease uses radiations in all the stages if surgery choice is not available because of some reason. Hysterectomy is removal of victim’s full uterus which also includes a section of vagina.

This technique is used in the early stage of cervical cancer known as microinvasive cancer. In the second stage, lymph nodes may also be removed mostly. Surgical prodecures may also help. It can be LEEP or also cone biopsy. The later is said to be a curative method to treat cervical cancer. Radical trachelectomy may also be done for vaginal abnormality in this cancer. This technique can be combined with lymphadenectomy and can lead to a speedy recovery.

Caution

In pregnancy, occurrence of such a condition can also lead to the death of the child. Most of the times, surgery is the only option which means the child has to get aborted. So it is best to know your health status before planning about your family. Safe sex practice is advised for people who have recovered from these diseases. After the surgery, immediate involvement in sexual activity is not advisable as it may also lead to infection or spread of germs.
